Dr. Monish Tourangbam is a Visiting Fellow at NIICE. His research interests include Great Power Politics in International Relations, U.S. Foreign Policy and Grand Strategy, U.S. Domestic Politics, Emerging Geopolitics of the Indo-Pacific, Issues of Peace and Conflict in Afghanistan, Public Diplomacy and India’s Foreign Policy Orientations. He is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Geopolitics and International Relations, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, India and the Coordinator of the North East Studies Centre at MAHE. He was a Visiting Faculty at University of Cincinnati, Ohio; South Asian Voices Visiting Fellow at the Henry L. Stimson Centre, Washington D.C.; part of an India-China Track II Dialogue in 2019 and was an International Observer of the Russian Presidential Election held in March 2018. He is Features Editor (Foreign Policy) for the Science, Technology, and Security Forum (stsfor.org) run by the Manipal Advanced Research Group (MARG) and an Executive Editor of the North East Diary – A Newsletter on Affairs of India’s Northeastern region. He is a Fellow at the Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies. Formerly, he was an Associate Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi and a visiting faculty at Ansal University, Haryana. He has a number of publications to his credit and has been a regular contributor to a number of prominent strategic affairs platforms, including the South Asian Voices (Stimson Center) and the Diplomat. He holds an M.Phil and a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
